Ecuador Climbs

Illiniza Norte stands at 16,818ft.  It is part of a double peak - Illiniza Sur and Illiniza Norte.  It is located just south of Quito.  It is often used as a preparatory mountain.

Cayambe is part of the Ecuadorian Andes and is 18,818ft.  It has a permanent snow cap on it.  It is the third highest peak in Ecuador.  On it's south side slope is the highest point in the world that crosses the Equator.

Chimborazo is the highest mountain in Ecuador.  It reaches 20,561ft.  The summit is the furthest point from the center of the earth.  It is an inactive volcano and is covered in glaciers.

Cotopaxi is the second highest peak in Ecuador.  It is one of the highest active volcano's in the world.  It is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire.  It's summit is at 19,348ft.

Corazon is another volcano in Ecuador.  It is situated southwest of Quito.  It rises to 15,718.
